How are the Brackets and Supports attached to the wall?
Using the sidewall Brackets as a template, simply drill a 3/8” hole into the drywall (no need to locate a stud) and simply insert the expandable plugs and pins. For the Center Shelf Supports, use wood screws supplied and attach to a stud behind the drywall. The installation is Fast, Easy and Very Strong.

Are other shelving products available (i.e. metal supports) stronger than the Vanguard supports and brackets?
NO. Vanguard Shelf Brackets and Supports draw their strength from their design and the engineered resins used to make them. These simple but stylish products are surprisingly strong. The Brackets installed into drywall can comfortably support 350lbs of downward pressure. The Supports, installed into a stud are designed to hold 150 lbs. Both are engineered to far exceed a typical closet, pantry or bookshelf requirements.

Are the shelf supports and brackets available in colours other than white?
Yes, for special orders only. The predominant colour requested and readily supplied is white only.

If required, can the supports be painted?
YES. The ABS surface holds paint extremely well.

What depth of shelves can be supported with Vanguard Brackets?
Vanguard Shelf Supports are designed to hold 12” and 16” deep shelves. They can however be positioned to hold odd depths.

When should I use a center shelf support?
A Center Shelf Support to provide support for melamine shelving is recommended every 36” to 48” in width.
